Frensheen - How To Use
Preparation
- Watch our video on Frenchic TV for a great demo and tips for using Frensheen
- Ensure the surface to be painted is suitably prepared. Clean, dry and in good condition
- You can watch our video on how to prepare surfaces for painting here
- Transfer the required amount of your chosen medium (top coat or wax) to a suitable container
- Carefully add a spoonful of the Frensheen powder (the product is very lightweight so take care when handling) and mix slowly to form a smooth glaze - adding more as required to reach the consistency of cream - wax will be thicker
- The more powder you add, the stronger the metallic effect - however, avoid adding so much that the texture of the glaze is gritty. Add more of the medium to correct the consistency if necessary
- Stir thoroughly and repeatedly during the application phase
Application and drying
- A brush is recommended for application
- Drying time will depend on the medium but 60 mins is a rough estimate
- Add more coats are required
- Finish with a layer of the top coat or wax you are using as the medium
Clean up and storage
- Keep the lid on the unmixed powders
- Mixed glaze can be kept in an airtight container for a few days but will tend to harden over time
- Always mix thoroughly again before and during use
