How to Upcycle your Outdoor Chairs with Frenchic Paint
Outdoor seating is one of the most popular forms of DIY garden furniture. If you’re tired of your current chairs or they no longer match your outdoor space, there’s no need to buy new ones. You can simply upcycle them with a fresh coat of paint.
What you’ll need:
- Frenchic Al Fresco Paint
- Hand-held paint sprayer
- Sand paper
Method:
Before you begin painting, make sure you remove or cover any fabric seat pads to protect them from paint splatters.
You then want to prepare the surface by sanding down the area to be painted, to help the new layer of paint adhere betters. This is particularly important if the wood was previously varnished, as the varnish will act as a barrier.
To paint the stool, we recommend using a hand-held paint sprayer to get into tight spaces and around any moulded details with ease. That way you can get a clean, professional look for your DIY outdoor seating and save yourself some time.
Our Al Fresco range is the perfect choice here, as it is UV resistant and highly durable to knocks and scrapes. This paint is also self-sealing, but you must use two coats of paint to fully weatherproof your item!
