Anyone else want to get cosy for Christmas?

As the autumn months set in all I want to do is get extra cosy - I love a space to hibernate.

After a few years of grubby little fingers all over the walls in the lounge, this space was looking more “lived-in” than loved, so it was definitely time for a refresh.

The colour I’ve gone for is called Swayed by Frenchic and while I thought I knew all the neutral colours inside out from Frenchic, I actually discovered this one in their new colour chart – which I’m OBSESSED with right now. So many fresh and cosy tones to fall in love with.

Of course, I had to paint the radiator too, so it blends right in, no distractions, just calm, cohesive loveliness.

And even after just one coat, Swayed has the most amazing, rich pigmentation. It’s such a dreamy shade; a warm soft, muted pink that shifts beautifully with the light. I keep catching myself staring at it at different times of the day and just smiling.

There’s something extra satisfying about using a completely different colour for a room. You really feel the change,  not just a freshen-up, but a whole new mood. Anyone else obsessed with that kind of glow up?

Thinking of repainting a room? Here’s a quick step-by-step to get started:

1. Prep first - Clean the walls, fill any holes, and mask off the edges for a clean finish.

2. Clear the space - If you can, move furniture out. I ended up shifting a huge unit to do the job properly.

3. Pick the right tools - A quality roller gves that smooth, dreamy finish. Use an angled brush for crisp cut-in lines. (FYI: I used a mini roller for the whole thing and do not recommend it).

4. Get painting! Frenchic's wall paint is self-priming, self-sealing and scrubbable - perfect for life with little ones. I so wish this range had existed when i first painted this room.

5. Don't forget the extras - Radiators, skirtings, sockets - painting these helps tie everything together beautifully.

What do you think of this new colour? Would you ever go for pink in your home?
