Painting a Brighter Future: Our New Partnership with Samaritans

Painting a Brighter Future: Our New Partnership with Samaritans

In the years since Frenchic was founded in 2014, we have continuously seen how paint can bring people together and build a supportive and creative community. Decorating, painting, crafting and upcycling can be so much more than artistic or DIY endeavours. For many, these activities become integral to their lives, have a positive impact and change them for the better.

We are therefore incredibly proud to announce a new, official partnership with mental health and suicide prevention charity, Samaritans.

We are honoured to play a part in supporting them and their crucial work via a product-based donation initiative.

Please read on to find out more.

Who are Samaritans?

Founded in 1953, Samaritans is the charity that’s there day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope and needs someone to listen without judgment or pressure.

When times are tough, more people may find themselves needing to talk to someone. Samaritans need to be there whenever people need them most – day or night, 365 days a year.

To achieve this, Samaritans have a network of volunteers across the UK and Ireland who are dedicated in offering emotional support to those who are struggling with their mental health.

They have long approached mental health conversations with empathy and compassion. Creating safe spaces is a vital part of helping people express their feelings. Samaritans combine this outreach with targeted community initiatives to raise awareness and encourage conversation about mental health and suicide prevention.

Anyone looking for help can contact Samaritans day or night on 116 123. All calls are free and can be accessed even if you don’t have mobile credit. Alternatively, you can reach them online at www.samaritans.org

Painting and Mental Health: Why Did We Choose Samaritans?

Given the nature of their work, Samaritans is a natural partnership for Frenchic Paint.

“Painting and upcycling can be very mindful and helpful for people with mental health challenges and stresses in their lives,” explains Mandy Rippon, our product manager.

“When I was a Frenchic stockist at my local furniture reuse charity, we had a team of up to 13 volunteers – including many people with mental health issues – who found the workshop to be a safe and calming space. I also found many customers spoke to me about how helpful they found painting furniture in their own lives.”

Another testament to the power of painting is the Frenchic Fan Forum group on Facebook. Started in our early days, the group now has over 600,000 members. We regularly see comments and posts about how painting in all forms has helped members, giving them the joy of creativity, a distraction from the stresses of life and even new meaning.

How Our Wall and Trim Paint Ranges Will Help Samaritans

Frenchic is an award-winning chalk paint brand with creativity and community at its core. As a local company with a global reach and royal recognition – we are immensely proud to connect people through our extensive creative community. We have long believed that people and paint can really change lives for the better.

Support Samaritans with Award-Winning Paint

Frenchic Chalk Wall Paint is an award-winning, luxurious paint that gives a velvety, ultra-matte coverage to any interior surface you put it to. This includes woodwork, ceramic wall tiles, concrete, walls, ceilings and even wood floors.

Available in the same range of colours, our Trim Paint has been designed for a subtle sheen that fits well with doors, skirtings and radiators. This paint is water-based with high scuff resistance, making it perfect for areas that frequently encounter knocks and bumps.

Purchasing any of the colours listed above in either the Chalk Wall Paint or Trim Paint variations will contribute to the vital work that Samaritans do across the country.

We look forward to our customers, stockists and extended “Frenchic Family,” supporting this new initiative.
