We know how important your pets are – they’re part of the family, after all. That’s why safety is at the heart of what we do. Frenchic paints are specially formulated to be kind to you, your home, and the creatures you share it with.
Water-based with minimal VOCs
All of our paint ranges are water-based, making them a safer and more eco-conscious choice for households with pets. They contain minimal volatile organic compounds (VOCs), so you won’t experience strong chemical smells when painting. That also means better air quality for you and your pets.
EN71-3 certified – toy-safe paint
Frenchic paints are rigorously tested and certified to the EN71-3 standard. Part of the EU Toy Safety Directive, this standard ensures that painted surfaces are safe for children’s toys – and by extension, safe for your four-legged family members too.
Whether your pet rubs up against a painted surface or has a snooze on a painted bed frame, you can rest easy knowing there are no harmful substances to worry about once the paint has cured.
Always let paint dry thoroughly
While Frenchic paint is safe once fully dry and cured, we always recommend keeping pets away from freshly painted areas. Not only can this protect them from coming into contact with wet paint, but it also prevents stray hairs or paws from spoiling your perfect finish!
Open windows where possible to allow for good ventilation, and follow the instructions on the tin for drying times and recoat intervals. Once the final coat is dry and cured, your painted surface will be durable, beautiful and pet-safe.
Suitable for pet-friendly furniture projects
Many pet owners love transforming furniture for their furry friends – whether a revamped cabinet for pet supplies or an outdoor dog bed made from pallet offcuts. So, which paint is best to bring your creations to life?
Frenchic’s Lazy Range and Trim Paint range are perfect for such projects. Both are self-sealing, self-priming, and EN71-3 certified, offering brilliant coverage on wood, laminate, uPVC and more. The Lazy Range has a flat finish, while Trim Paint products have a soft, subtle sheen.
If you’re painting outside, the Al Fresco range is the perfect fit. It has the same qualities as the Lazy Range alongside weather-resistance. This protects the paint from both rainfall and UV rays to ensure your transformations are long-lasting in the elements.
So go ahead – get creative and make your pet’s space just as stylish and safe as the rest of your home.
