Pink and Green Should Always Be Seen: A Wickedly Perfect Pairing
Pink and green should never be seen, or so the old adage goes, but here at Frenchic we beg to differ, pink and green are the ultimate in complementary colour couples and will add a chic finish to any room in the house. From green cabinetry and pink walls in the kitchen to green walls and pink soft furnishings and accessories in a bedroom.
And with the new Wicked movie about to hit our screens, there’s never been a better time to embrace the Wickedcore aesthetic of pink and green with an added dash of theatrical flair. For the perfect Wicked colours from Frenchic, try the candy-coloured Bon Bon, a sugar pink with a fabulously feminine feel, paired with the jewel green of Emerald Isle, a statement shade that possesses charisma and energy in spades.

Frenchic Colour Expert Jen explains the science behind the colour pairing:
"Pink and green are natural companions” says Jen. “Opposites on the colour wheel that meet in perfect harmony. When our eyes see them together, something instinctive happens, they balance each other."
“Green calms and restores the senses, while pink uplifts and warms them. Each softens what the other intensifies, creating a visual rhythm that feels soothing and alive all at once. Perhaps that’s why we find the pairing everywhere in nature, petals against leaves, blossom, and growth side by side, a reminder that emotion and renewal belong together."
“In colour psychology, pink speaks of love and care, green of hope and new beginnings. Together, they create the feeling of life in full bloom, grounded yet romantic, balanced yet beautifully alive.”
Changed for Good: Wicked Furniture Glow-Ups
Our talented Frenchic stockists have been busy creating these inspiring Wicked themed pink and green upcycles. Stockist Rhi at Uniquely Yours by Rhi has transformed these bedside tables. For the Elphaba green, Rhi used Emerald Isle in Chalk Wall Paint to paint the units and Sexy Silver Frensheen for the stripes.
Rhi dry brushed some Blackjack Al Fresco and Love Letter in the Lazy Range to blend the decoupage paper of the good and bad witches, and the hot air balloon handles were painted with Love Letter and Teddy Mercury Frenshimmer.
For the Glinda pink bedside table, Rhi painted Bon Bon Chalk Wall Paint with Jubilee Metallic stripes and used the same method above for blending the paper and the balloon drawer handles.

Jackie Moulla at Brits Love Vintage, has created a dressing table that Glinda would be proud of. Originally it had been painted with thick gloss. So, after cleaning it with sugar soap, she sanded it right back and painted the top and legs with Bon Bon Chalk Wall Paint. Jackie made the Harlequin stencil and used Regal Rosie Metallics, Champagne Rosie Frenshimmer, and Sexy Silver Frensheen.
She then repainted the mouldings with Sexy Silver, Regal Rosie and a mix of Gorgeous Gold Frensheen and Cool Copper Frensheen mixed with Finishing Coat.
To create the showstopper Elphaba mirror. Jackie used Victory Lane Al Fresco for the frame with Green Goddess Frensheen mixed with Clear Wax. She painted the moulds with Blackjack Al Fresco, then added Green Goddess Frensheen and Gorgeous Gold Frensheen mixed with Clear Wax.

Kelly Thorne at Lavender Grove’s two fabulous table upcycles include an antique French style hall table and a dressing table. For the former, Kelly painted the table’s curved legs and handles in Bon Bon Chalk Wall Paint and made a Victory Lane Al Fresco and Bon Bon stripe body. Kelly added a decoupaged top and Jubilee Metallics around the edges for maximum impact.
Kelly’s brilliant, compact vanity table has been created using Bon Bon Chalk Wall Paint and Gorgeous Gold Frensheen with a sweet decoupaged drawer.

For more takes on the pink and green colour combination, you could try more muted variations of the shades. A dusty pink, for example, works perfectly with an olive tone – try the warm, subtle, part blush hue of Rosy Dusk paired with Olivia, this mid-toned brownish green is a natural olive that grounds a room.
