Description

Save 20% and get everything you need to create your own beautiful antique bronze gilding wax with depth of colour and multiple tones. It gives a unique metallic finish to internal wooden furniture, picture frames, candlesticks and other items to enhance decorative details and let them shine.

The antique bronze gilding wax can be used to transform painted surfaces, metal, wood, laminate and plastic. We recommend using our perfectly sized stencil brush for application.

Features:

  • Beautiful Bronze Frensheen
  • Browning Wax
  • Stencil Brush

How to use it

Simply mix your Beautiful Bronze Frensheen and Browning Wax in a 50/50 ratio and dab the mix into raised details with the stencil brush or simply use your thumb to highlight areas. For example, a small project like a picture frame would require roughly one teaspoon of Beautiful Bronze Frensheen mixed with one teaspoon of Browning Wax.

Quick tip: Don't mix it until it’s completely uniform, as leaving subtle variations will add depth and dimension to the bronze finish, giving it a more original and less flat appearance.

For shiny surfaces make sure you scuff-sand before applying your gilding wax.

Beautiful Bronze Frensheen

A really lovely warm metallic bronze with pinkish tones.

  • Metallic powder for decorative use.
  • Add metallic details to your projects.
  • Combine with other Frensheens to create your own unique colours.

Suitable for

Recommended for any furniture or crafting project in need of a bit of bling. Ideal for full coverage or for highlighting raised details.

Coverage

Each 75g pot, when mixed with an equal amount of Browning Wax, will provide coverage for approximately 5m².

Preparation

  • Ensure the surface to be gilded is suitably prepared. Clean, dry and in good condition. Lightly sand shiny surfaces to give the gilding wax some texture to grab onto.
  •   You can watch our video on how to prepare surfaces for painting here
  • Transfer the required amount of Browning Wax and Frensheen to a suitable airtight container for mixing and storage. The mixture will last for months.
  • The more powder you add, the stronger the metallic effect. However, avoid adding so much that the texture becomes gritty or crumbly. If necessary, add more wax to achieve a butter-like consistency.

Application and drying

  • A brush is recommended for application.
  • Drying time will depend on the application, but 60 minutes is a rough estimate for initial drying and two to three weeks for full curing.

Browning Wax

A traditional, dark brown tinted, finishing wax for sealing and aging decorative effects, including the Frenchic Beam Hack technique, to create a natural wood effect.

  • Finishing wax.
  • Enhances wood and seals.
  • Highlights detail.
  • Simple to use.
  • Buffed finish has a sheen.

Suitable for

Recommended for sealing wood surfaces and as a top coat for the Original Artisan Range. Enhances painted surfaces and enriches the appearance of natural wood. Perfect for decorative effects. Interior use only.

Coverage

  • A 400ml tin will provide a minimum coat of 10m², depending on the porosity of the surface and the desired effect.
  • Thicker application will reduce coverage.

Stencil brush

  • Superior quality brushes, hand-made in Italy.
  • Ideal for stencilling and applying waxes, due to its short, stubby, mixed bristles and round shape.
  • Using a well-designed stencil brush helps prevent applying too much product.
